As we start the new year, often we make personal resolutions, but what about for your business? What is on your 'to do' list of changes to improve and grow your business in 2012?
Here are a few things to consider about your business.
Are there any untapped or hidden markets for your products and services? If you aren't sure where to look to find these underserved potential prospects to grow your business, you can find them by checking a few things online. First, try Googling your service or product. Look at how many search results pop up. More importantly, look to see if other businesses are paying for ads under those search phrases. Lots of search results and lots of paid ads for those words, means "there might be gold in them hills"! Are you getting a piece of that pie?
Another way to ascertain untapped markets is to look at your own website analytics. What words and phrases are people using to find you? Do those phrases reveal anything new? Often a product line that you might consider secondary might be growing in consumer demand! This is how to keep ahead of new trends and capitalize on them before someone else does.
What do consumers call your company's products or services? It might not be what YOU call them. The days of pushing your message to the public are numbered. Now, it's about consumers finding what THEY want, in whatever way THEY call it. Does your business website get found only by people who know your business name? Or, is it attracting new customers who are looking for your products and services, but don't know about you yet? New business growth comes from this latter group!
These are the types of business conversations, ROAR! loves to tackle. Yes, we build websites. But, it's all about growing your business, not about just creating a pretty online brochure! I deal with that every day... customers calling our product by a different name than we do.
